We cannot turn back time, so we should never allow ourselves to imagine what might have been. Living in the past is to waste living to-day. There is surely a reason why we have to make mistakes and learn about life as we live it. If we had the knowledge of a lifetime at seventeen, would this mean we would have a happier more success full life? If we never made any mistakes about anything, would we be happier ? We must experience sadness and failure otherwise, how do we know when we are happy and success full ? If we never experience badness how do we know what is good? Never regret what is past, learn from it, and go forwards.

I'd want to be smarter than I was the 1st time around, and not in such a big hurry to be 'grownup'. I had my first child at 21, co-managed a hotel in Alaska w/my then-husband, and had absolutely nothing in common with my contemporaries. I rarely went out to clubs and felt intensely uncomfortable socially. I was the youngest in my social group for years and felt inadequate as an adult and too old to be a 21 year old 'kid' out having fun. I'd just cool my jets if I could do it over.

I would never have married (though woo-hoo for divorce!)
I would have travelled while I had no responsibilities, accepted the place at college I was offered and although I am with him now, ( another woo-hoo!) I would have pursued the love of my life the night I met him and not waited another 2 years for him to say something!

I would have gone to a different school and I would have done a different course at uni. I think changing those two things would have definitely changed my life for the better.

I'd go back to when our daughter was born and do it all over again.
