I use a folding cane and they are the only type of canes that I use. There are two different types of folding canes on the market. There are the "classic design" models that are the most common. The other type are the "elite series" models and they have a special "joint" between the sections that make it easier to fold. They are a Bit higher in price but I highly recommend them. If you plan on folding your cane up often then get the "elite series" model.

You can get these from Braille. If you are not visually impaired, you will have to repaint it to hide the red tip. My mom has one of these, and they break down to about a foot long. There is a long piece of elastic inside that holds it all in place.

I'll bet your doctor knows where you can get one, or at least, he'll know someone who does. You could also try searching the internet. Look for medical supply places, they might have one. And if you can't find one, patent your idea and have someone make it for you!

Most major stores like rite-aid and walgreens carry them. If you can't find one locally, check online at amazon.com or drugstore.com.

Go to Ebay. There's nothing there that you will not find. Trust me.
