I presume your central heating system heats water on demand? If so this is the best system to use. The immersion heater will take ages to heat the water and you may find that your showers are cut short when it runs out of hot water.

Its more economical to use the hot water storage that the central heating system will heat. Immersion heaters aren't economical. If you can buy a sealed and pressurised storage tank you wont need a power booster pump as your hot shower would also be mains pressure - but if not dont worry.
Central Heating Boiler water is much cheaper in the long-run than using the immersion.

Immersion is cheaper and more efficient, unless you already have a tankfull heated by the boiler.
