Don't use gel- use neutrogena or Pears soap- most gentle types.
Take only leukwarm shower not hot.
Try and have a nice long soak in the tub at least once a week- re-hydrates dry skin.
When you get out from the tub/shower, lather yourself with baby oil, vaseline or rice butter based products while your skin is hydrated and thet will keep the water in the skin cells.

Go to "the body shop".
I took a shower gel from there and it was great. Search for the ones for dry skin.

It may sound really weird, but I like Huggies baby wash. It has an awesome smell, and it helps with my dry skin!
