I'm going to Cyprus this summer with my boyfriend and we want to go to a more couples-suited/quiet place but with somewhere lively not far away so we can have some fun nights out. Has anyone ever been to Nissi Bay and do you know if it's in a suitable location? I want to be far enough away from Ayia Napa for the 18-30's holidaygoers not to disturb me but also close enough to take a taxi ride there when we want to visit.

If I understood the question well you wanna be in Ayia Napa but not in the center were all the buzz is (during night).

Nissi Bay is on the Nissi Beach. That's the most crowded beach in Cyprus. There are a couple of quiet beaches nearby also.
The area there is quiet during night and it's about 5 khm from the center.

There are other quiet areas with hotels closer to the center. The best area for me is the beach near the Ayia Napa harbour. The beach there is also nice but not as exotic as in Nissi. That beach is just 1 khm from the center and there are a couple of 4 star hotels there.

The best beaches in Cyprus are in Protaras. That's 15 khm from Ayia Napa. Protaras is a more family destination. There is not so much nightlife there when it come to clubbing but many places to go like restaurants and pubs.

Check on the internet for pictures, it will help your desision.

PS. What's the problem with that turk on the first answer ? they have to turn everything to propaganda ? how low is that ? that was a travellers question for god's sake.

Nissi Bay is OK. Someone suggests you visit Northen Cyprus. Mind you that the Republic of Cyprus is the official government recognized by other governments (Paphos and Larnaka airports). My suggestion is you travel through the recognized side of the island and then you can cross over the other side by car.

There are sometime journeys with huge boats from Ayia Napa harbor to Protaras and there are 3 day journeys to Egypt with crouise ships. i'm no longer gonna write you any costs because of the fact is the begging of the season and that i do no longer understand something for helpful. as long as you get to Ayia Napa you are able to ask each and everything you like in any holiday place of work or business enterprise there. (you do no longer even could desire to ask to study the fees because of the fact they submit them in front of their place of work). purely a walk interior the midsection of Ayia Napa is sufficient to get each and all of the archives you like.
