A meteorites, "falling stars", are bits and pieces of comets and asteroids; some may be piece of leftovers that formed our solar system billions of years ago. The thing is, our solar system formed from materials from the primordial universe, but also consist of materials created inside of the cores of giant star (normal stars consist of element from hydrogen to iron). When a star goes nova, some of the surface materials are scattered into space When a huge star goes supernova, the star is torn apart by the explosion and elements heavier than iron are created and cast into space.
Our solar system (including meteors) was made of elements that partially consisting of primordial hydrogen, but also consist of elements that were created in the cores of other stars. So if you were to find a meteor (a falling star) that had fallen from the sky, it was at least in part created inside a star that exist very long ago. So if you hold on to a meteor, you can truly touch , at least, a piece of a star.

It would be a little hot if it was THE sun. Stars in space are truly suns and huge and very hot. the things called shooting stars are pieces of space junk falling in to the earth. The friction of the atmosphere makes them hot.

As a mater of fact, you can !!! I was just on my way home from work this evening and saw a falling star (meteorite) land in the road... kind of unsettling actually... as it was on fire until it was maybe 50 feet from the ground... then it hit the road about 500 feet in front of me... I stopped to see it, and I did not find it ! I could have sworn it landed near the curb... but alas it was not there... but at least I did see it !

If the Earth is promptly moved exterior the universe then the celebs could seem to fall from heaven and the heavens could seem to be rolled up like a scroll upon the Earth leaving the universe. Revelation 6:12-14 (NIV) 12 I watched as he opened the 6th seal. there replaced into an incredible earthquake. The sunlight became black like sackcloth made up of goat hair, the excellent moon became blood crimson, 13 and the celebs interior the sky fell to earth, as figs drop from a fig tree while shaken via a sturdy wind. 14 The heavens receded like a scroll being rolled up, and each mountain and island replaced into removed from its place.

the term "falling star" is a metaphor for a falling metorite, so if you wanted to touch a metorite, go ahead but it'll be really hot, and it won't be an actual star
