Good question! Physiologically, it is more comfortable for men to sit like that due to the way their hips and pelvis are situated. It is actually kinda difficult for them to cross their legs like females do.

Some men have big legs. Also, men's legs are closer together, so crossing our legs might crush our testicles. Instead, we put our ankle up onto our knee.
another reason, if you want to go into technical details, is that sperm cells need a lower temperature than 98.6 degrees to develop properly. We're just trying to keep our "sperm factory" cool.

it is more comfortable for our "private" parts..... its simple as that... its uncomfortable for them if they have no room.....
