what does a negative number on a baseball bat mean beacuase i have like one -10 two -9 and one -11 and i dont know what they mean. Thanks

It's how many ounces in weight the bat is, less the length. In other words, the bat is that many inches longer than it weighs in ounces.

For example, a 32 inch bat that weighs 28 ounces is a - 4. The largest ratio is in the range of -12 (for little league bats), while college and high school bats are restricted to a - 3. That number actually shows the difference between the Length of the bat and the weight of the bat. For instance if the Length is 32 inches and the weight is 24 ounces then it is -8. Get it?
