They are good people but lack the basic necessary skill to approve themselves. I suspect most of these cases goes righht back to childhood, especially when they are put down all the time and never seem to get the approval from the authorities around them. Some rebel. Some belived the "not good enough" labels. But the real insecurity shows when "the rubber meets the road" when their "survival" is at stake. [in their own eyes] Then they feel like a "cornered animal". Question how do you gain the trust and love of the "cornered animal". It is also not solve by showering love. What is required, is a change of mindset of the "cornered animal". Changing the way they see things. And that depends how deep it is, it might be a spiritual issue as well. The seat of the soul is the spirit. The mind is just the surface.

Being insecure doesn't mean you don't love yourself, Everyone has some form of insecurity. some more than others. If the person you love and loves you is insecure, work at making them believe in themselves. Be strong for them.....

My ex boyfriend told me that once. How can I love you, if I cant even love myself. The guy was HOT, and had an AMAZING body .. He was some great eye candy and pretty smart aswell .. The one thing about him was that he had such a low self esteem. I would try to tell him positive things about himself all the time .. I dont think it worked much, but that seems to be the only role that you can play sometimes .. Some people are just born with low self esteems ... Dont let it bring yours down!!!

I honestly don't know how you can love someone when you can't even love youreself?
I think a person's strenths with in themselfs (and not how people see them) are what make them confident.
A lot of people worry about what "other people" think or see them. I feel a person should feel comfortable with themselves and learn to love themselves before they love others.

everyone loves themselves. we are all selfish self lovers. Look at any so called love for others and see how conditional it is! insecurity is the realisation that life is unsatisfactory. the only one who has the right to feel secure is an all powerful god that lives forever in bliss.

Thats stupid.
Its very easy to buy things for others, when you dont buy things for yourself
Its very easy to do things for others, and not do things for yourself
Its very easy to be critical of others, and not be critical of yourself.
Obviously, if you loved them uncoditionally, you would love them despite their insecurities, and thus would have no need to post a question on Yahoo about it.

first no one except god can love unconditionally..
its not about loving yourself, but being able to love someone else, putting someone else first...sometimes makes you feel insecure..
