i totally agree with you as the next generation are going to obviously learn from our behaviour. My children ask me questions now and however i answer them someone else always seems to contradict me, its hard to find the right balance. I think schools should pull together more as well as the parents, after all we only get one chance at life wouldn't it be great if we could live in peace.

sorry to say it but we live in a free country and some views that are given are bad, apart from the views that are against the law,we all have the right to say what we think, and an arguement between people that don't live very ordinary lives on a show that thrives on scandel shouldn't be taken as the views of the common people.
And do you think suppressing the views(legal ones)of any person will build a better future for the next generation?

We may try and built a better future for the next generation as you say but those who complain about racism will pass their insecurities on to their kids. I agree, racism is ugly hence those who were treated badly in the past must also learn to forget and be proud of who they are. Then only the kids will grow up strong and proud.

I don't think every one can do that. Because people make racism remarks and comments regardless of their sex, age, race, and even educational backgrounds. I think the most important thing is that each person needs to realize one's responsibility of what one says and consider the impact of what one says.

I don't think we can as a society (everyone), but we can individually and try to make it spread to others. Some people just won't change, but we could try. I just saw the movie Crash and it really touched me, it was so amazing. The mexican guy gave me a total new outlook on the whole race because he was such a nice guy with his little famiy. Throughout the movie, I had so many stereotypes of what they would do. But, because of the movie, I learned to stop prejudging.

That's certainly something to think about isn't it? But, the bottom line is not so much tolerance as it is respect. We need to respect the rights of all human beings and judge them on their characters, not race, creed or color. We may not agree with every one, but that's perfectly fine as long as we know that everyone has the right to live his or her life to the fullest.

People have been trying to do that for a very long time. I try to help by rating the racist comments low. Other than that, there's not much I can do to change someone's mind.

I was discussing this with my sister the other day. I said we've definitely come a long way, but this is as good as it gets. I said as long as there are different races, there will always be racism. It's inevitable.

i think that if everybody thought before they spoke the world might be a better place to live in,however i also think that no matter how hard you try to solve the racism issue, there will always be people who will disagree

I think it is highly unlikely. Idealisms fall on their faces always. Wouldn't it be wonderfull if everyone could be nice to one another. It goes way way beyond racism.
