it seams like every time some one that i care about has problems i trie to help them in the best way i can. but when i have problems no one cares for me. like one of my friend had a problem with his dad and i help him out. people khew i had a problem with a kid in school and they did eaven give me advice. should i stop caring for the people i care about.

No, don't ever stop caring for other people. You are like me - you put yourself before other people, and believe me..THAT IS NOT A BAD THING! Believe me, your friends will soon realize that you help them alot, when you have a problem, they will be there.
Also, the friends you have now may not be the ones you have when you are an adult. If your friends don't come around & listen to you about your problems, then I would rethink how good of friends they are.
You seem like a great person, don't ever change how you like to hear about people's problems. Everyone would love to have a friend like you!

I dont really agree with only giving your time to your true friends. In this lifetime of mine, im a total giver. If I was financially broke, and someone I knew needed help .. I would still help them out. You remind me of myself alot. The way I look at it, is that it doesnt hurt or waste too much time to lend a helping hand. Somewhere down your path in life .. When you need and want someone to be there the most .. They will. Life works in mysterious ways .. Just keep it up and be good to everyone around you .. You never know when you will REALLY need thier help.

i'd the same problem.it's good to keep up the same goodness but it all depends upon ur tolerance level or sensitivity.i've just been the kind as u 've told abt urself.but dear this thing has hurt me to such an extent tht now gradually i've stopped believing in EVERYONE except my parents.so i'd suggest to go only to the extent tht can keep u URSELF,after all this ordeal.don't test ur limists & don't go beyond them.

u know what ,i have the same problem here. im way too nice to people,im the one who gives advice to people sometimes it leads to favors ,but whenever i wanted something nobody's there for me.so thats when i cared less.now i help out people who help me.and as for those who didnt give a crap when i helped them and ask me advice now i just tell them ohh i dont know or i dont have time . :D

That's called being modest. you don't really care what you look like or what happens to you. You show alot of concern and you will be a leader when you get older bwecause you show concern ppl and you don't get that in this world that much

your starting to understand the NICE syndrome. it happens to those who are nice. you see, people tend to use others without thinking selflessly like yourself. you help them because you want to help them. other's help people so they can get help in the future.
but this is where they get in trouble, because people see you as someone who is a helper - and nothing else. they don't want to go through the trouble of helping you, because it's a pain for them to do so.
so, you have to be observant and less trusting of people. see who really is deserving. see who you can trust, you have to observe this by their actions. do they share their lunch with someone, if they forgot there's? or do they eat in front of them.
those are the ones that might help you. same goes with lending money - you ain't gonna see that money every again.

I'm in the same position i like to help fix prolbems i got friends with depression and like to help them thru tough times. and friends with other prolbems as well. i am a very independent person so i try to help my friends as much as possible i'll admit sometimes they are not there for me as often as i like but i know they listen save yourself for your true friends they usually come thru for you. never stop caring for people ya care about..

dude im in the same boat as you, but i still like to help people. im independent and dont feel that i need people's help....i like to help people in the hopes that they might like me....
