when people say that we should not have expectations for people does that mean we should accept any type of treatment.. good or bad? Accept crap unconditinally?

Blue, it means we respect all people until they reveal that they do not have the same morals as you. Surround yourself with persons of like values and expectations for achievements, Sweeteie, never expect or accept crap from anyone. Show your backbone and what you are made of. Never be ashamed to stand up for what you believe. Live your own life by good example... now that is so very hard sometimes, but then people who think life is just one roller coaster ride are in for one sad tumble.

What they mean is that nobody is perfect and everyone makes mistakes. Not intending to, friends will hurt and disappoint us. Don't put people on a pedestal.
But never accept bad treatment from someone or intentional hurt or abuse. No one will respect you if you allow them to step all over you. And you will not respect yourself.
I believe in trusting someone until they give me reason not to. Then, they have to earn my respect back.
So then, NO! Never accept crap.

You should NEVER expect or accept crap from anybody. They mean just don't get your hopes up for anything big or meaningful.
