this baby is between you and your husband. not between your mother in law, husband and you. your husband will have to stick up for you. just because she is his mother does not give her the right to disrespect you like that.

sorry to hear about the mess. Mother in law was in the wrong for saying you have no right to name your child. That was really silly. Both you and your husband have every right to name her as you wish. Explain to your mother in law that she really hurt your feelings in voicing her opinion that way. If she is understanding she will apologize for her uncalled for outburst. If not well then I guess your pick up the pieces and hope for a better day, because when your new little one comes along Grandma will be the first one there to help spoil her. Good luck and congrats on the soon to be new arrival.

You need to tell him how you feel hunny. Just say that it really hurt your feelings and made you mad that his mom said that. You have all the right in the world to name your baby, but does your husband want that name too? If you guys have both decided on that name and hes happy with it too dont worry about what the mom is saying darling. It may have offended you a lot but its not a lot to get worked up ya know? This is you and your hubby's baby not his moms. =] hope ive helped

You and your husband name the baby... It is not your mother in laws place to name the little one. Just let it go and focus on you new one and your husband. They are the only ones you have to please and take care of.

Let it go... if she acts like that you are fighting a losing battle. Just ignore her and move on. If she behaves like that again and she does it to your face then assertively, but politely tell her that her behavior is unacceptable.
If you are looking for you husband to confront her you can forget it, men have a weird thing about their mothers... he will never speak against her.

That stinks. I would just say one thing for this situation and for the future-DON'T TAKE HER SERIOUSLY. Laugh it off. Don't let her get to you. You and your husband should go ahead and name your baby as planned. She will just have to deal with it.

Girl name her what YOU LIKE!! If she doesn't like it, EVEN BETTER! She doesn't need to apologize, just like you don't need to take her "baby name" ideas into consideration. That's the same reaction I got from my mother-in-law, but after all it's your baby. Name it whatever you like. Good luck!
