where do you get a fax no.?,or do you just make one up.?

i.'m trying to set up a fax address on a brother mfc420cn printer.

it's whatever phone number you have your computer hooked up to. your home phone number will also be your fax number if that is the phone your computer/fax machine is hooked up to.

All you have to do is plug the phone line from the fax to the wall. Your home phone number will serve as both your fax number and home number. Just remember to unplug the fax when you do not need to use it or else no one will be able to get through on your phone line for a phone call.

if the fax machine is plugged into your house phone than the number is the same as you house phone number. Call the phone company to get a seperate line set up

I got a printer hooked up to my Pc, I've programmed the printer to either send or receive faxes using my own telephone line and it works extrtemely good.

erm.. for your fax number the companing thats providing the service for u to have a fax will give u the number and if u want somone else's u have to ask them for it.

use your phone line and multi use it as a fax and voice and even broadband and anything else you throw down it like cable or alarm system etc
