Here is a link to the project I'm making. http://www.hartvilletool.com/product/11265

The wood I'm useing is 1/2 Pine and 2 inch Pine.
Should I use a Band saw and a Jig saw. Do you think the 2 inch is too much for a scroll saw? Do you think That I can use a Jig saw for all of it? Help me out here folks!!

I would mostly use a bandsaw and then the jig saw. The 2" will be to much for the scroll saw. If you have a bandsaw, great, if not the jigsaw will work. These larger projects like you are going to do, I use my band saw. Straighter & finer cuts. Good luck with it. That's a great project.

i think that the pine is probably only 1 1/2 inch thick if it is standard
cut lumber you're using. A jig could do this entire job, but will be very time consuming and tedious and you may go through several blades before youre done. you'd have to move quite slowly to do a decent job. A scroll would be even better, and save you some time. Best of all would be the band saw; it would really speed things up. if you can get access to a band saw, I'd go for that option. I once made a park bench with a very elaborately curved and detailed back and sides; i did the entire job with a jig. It took me about 40 + hours of labor.

You can use a jig saw or a band saw. Jig saw will leave you do more sanding to smoothen out the cut line.
A scroll saw is used for really fine work - like wood picture jigsaw pieces or ornamental cuts "artasia work" really intricate.

I wouldn't use jig saw at all if you want a good job, especially with the 2 inch wood, the blade would flex too much. I would use a band saw to cut the basic shapes and finish off with a scroll saw. If you are really good and had a decent saw you could probably do it all with the band saw.
