I own a Dell laptop that is 4 years old and had great success. I purchased a second laptop last month from HP and it is performing great. I selected the HP because it had stronger processor, larger display screen and a ton more memory for about $100 more than the comparable Dell model. I would recommend either, they are fantastic.

I really like HP and have used that brand for a while. I have just bought a new laptop and that brand is HP also. (arrives tomorrow, I'm so bloody excited. I love NEW). It works for me.

I have a ThinkPad for work and a Dell for at home...and I so prefer my Dell!!!

well most famous is dell but bit expensive....but compaq, acer is also good :D i use gateway ^_^ and it was very cheap for pentium d 1gb ram 320 hdd ^_^
