This could be carpal tunnel syndrone, but it could also be early signs of a heart attack. I suggest you see your favorite doctor or hospital to get a firm prognosis.

Sounds like cub ital tunnel syndrome. Unlike carpal tunnel which affects the pointer finger side of the hand, cubital tunnel affects the smallest finger and usually like half of the ring finger. The palm also will be affected. With this syndrome, the ulnar nerve is somehow compromised at either the wrist, elbow or sometimes the neck. Usually it is the elbow. The hand may feel "clumsy", giving you trouble opening containers, changing light bulbs, etc. resting your forearm on a desk for extended times or any hard surface may contribute to this problem. Also sleeping with your arm bent alto may lead to this over time. You can rig a homemade splint for sleeping by wrapping a towel around your elbow and taping it in place for the night. You can also keep something soft under your arm while on the computer. Regardless, you should get it checked out by a Doctor for testing like nerve conduction studies to see what and where the problem is. If left untreated, permanent damage may affect your arm/hand forever. If needed, surgery may be helpful. It can be painful at times. Good luck and don`t put off seeing the doc for too long.
