Well, I'm actually really happy about it. On the one hand, Real Madrid is one of my two favorite teams and Beckham leaving is a significant loss. On the other hand, I live in the United States, so I'm super excited for him to come. I can't wait 'til I go to a soccer game and see him in person-- even if I'm a hundred feet away, sitting in the stands. It would be still be really awesome.

I think he's a washed up soccer player that came to America to do what American sports stars do best...make more money than anywhere on earth.

Though truthfully he probably just bankrupted MLS because nobody really cares about soccer in America and only of few of them even remember the sport exists.

Bad idea Because he makes a better living in Real Madrid than America, and he cant just leave because his wife wants to live in the U.S.

I think he's doing for the money and opportunities of potetionally becoming an actor. Come on, 5 yrs for $250m. Who wouldn't take up on that offer? I think this thing about Beckham trying to make soccer a bigger impact in the US is secondary to him. He moved to LA for personal and financial reasons.

Can be a correct thing to do...He have realised that he was no get the chance to hold down a starting place in a team...even in the bench
For all of the reason, Capello who have lost faith in him was the main factor...
A good act but not a good move..

I think it's a good move on his part. He's gonna get rich(er than he his) and bring some attention to American soccer not only to the rest of the world, but to Americans who say they don't like soccer when they've never seen it or played it.

i think that it was about time. he wasnt playing well at all and it is obvious that if you dont play your best at a club like madrid, your gonna lose your job.

he will dominate american soccer b/c well americans suck at soccer. plus hes got the biggest name in american soccer, every little child in america has seen the movie 'bend it like beckham'. he might turn around soccer in america.

I also have a $50 bet that he appears in a cameo role in a Tom Cruise movie.

him leaving Real Madrid is like gradually bringing his career to an end

He is right to get away afrom Real. Capello seems to hate him, he doesn't get any time on the pitch and he doesn't seem to want his kids to go to Spanish schools.

Whether moving to the US was the right move is a different story.
