I assume you ask about a Federal IRS income tax filing. Yes, you probably will get a refund check for $20. You need to do this alone or with a friend/parent because the tax software will set you back $20. As for State of Texas income tax, I cannot advise you.

Texas doesn't have a State Income Tax. You can claim state sales tax refund from Federal and if you have had any income tax withheld from your wages you can claim that. Also if you had a home and/or a cell phone within the last 3 years and paid a federal excise tax for long distance you can file a Form 1040 EZ-T. As a single person you can claim a standard amount of $30. Research WWW.IRS.GOV

Your filing status is single, or head of household. Either you or your boyfriend can be head of household, he actually is if he is providing the support of the household. The other is single.
Either of you can legally claim the child on the tax return, but it would be better for him, as he has income, would get a bigger Earned Income Credit, etc.
You should file, you would get something back.
