You sound a bit like my sister.

I just mixed a bit of generic zinc cream into her moisturiser and told her to try it.

She now has perfect skin.

Well it all depends on what you're using it for.

I just moved to LA from the wholesome midwest and my skin did not like it. I have combination skin and was having a real hard time trying to adjust.

My first suggest would be to get a facial. They helped me understand my skin condition and asked specifically what they did to make it so soft and clear. Plus the extractions help with my horrible breakout problem.

Second, use the same all natural product line. I switched from Clinique to Aveda. 2 out of the 3 facialist I went to told me that Clinique was horrible for your skin because it was made up of mineral oils and not good for my skin. So once I stopped using Clinique, I shopped around for a week until I found a really good moisturizer. Most deptartment stores will give you a week trial of a moisterizer (Estee Lauder had a good one too).

Third, exfoliation. You need to do this at least twice a week if not more depending on your skin type. You need to get all that dead skin off your face and will help a lot with blemishes too.

Finally, I was told by my facialist at Burke Williams that you should mask your face 2 time/week. Choose one from target or a local drug store that will complement your skin really well. Like I use a moisterizing one, only because my skin is flaky from the cold/dry air. This will help keep it fresh.

Try the Hylunia product line. To locate a retailer, go to www.hylunia.com. The cleansing gel is going to be great for your whole face. It is all natural and does a great job. It also contains hyaluronic acid so it will hydrate your skin. For the enlarge pore area wash only that area with their salicylic acid cleanser. This will purge the oil from the skin and shrink the pore size.

I would go with the Oil of Olay line. Try their lotion cleanser with a buff puff sponge, then use their astringent to help shrink pores and then the original moisterizer. Then use the Avon Anew night cream at night. You're skin will look like a baby's butt.

Don't use anything with a strong acid. These products that remove top layer of skin to expose the new skin speed aging bit-time. The new skin underneath dies instantly because your body makes it die. There is suppose to be dead cells on the top. So another generation of skin cells die. Each generation of skin cells does not look as good or work as well as the last; that's the aging process.

So look good for a couple of days but age your face 5 weeks. I don't see the bargain. The acid may tingle and feel good and you may fool yourself if you use it every day. Be warned!

Oh maybe try something that contains Rhassoul Mud. I have found that it's doing wonders for my skin.
I use the Lush Mud Flats one. http://usa.lush.com/cgi-bin/lushdb/2608?expand=Soap

Usually I would never use "soap" but this is more of a natuarl soap. A friend told me about it and I've been really happy with the results. I have huge pores too and their Coalface soap has helped clean my pores out.

If you have sensative skin, then you need to find a type that's good for sensative skin.Oily skin make sure to get oil-free.And if your skin gets dried out, make sure to put facial lotion on it.Being too dry can cause problems too.Personally,I just wash my face with Dove soap and use Binzaclin(prescribed acne med) to keep my skin in line.It works to a point...my skin doesn't respond to anything really though so hopefully yours isn't like that.

Go to a store called Sephora. Find one by you. It has an entire area for skin care. There are always experts in the store available to answer any of your questions. You can even just stop in get some samples of products or just ask advice, no purchase necessary.

I use Stri Vectin and it has made my pores smaller and taken away some broken vessels. My blackheads on my nose are not noticeable anymore either.
This is not a cleaner. For that I use baby bath liquid. It cleans and softens quite well.
