Only legal if the patient is beyond medial assistance and in certain states- with the Dr. doing the deed. I would report them to a mental health facility if the subject was serious and they were next to me on the couch. It is a cry for help best left to the experts.

I don't know if it's legal or not but if I were you I wouldn't. If it was my friend I would get her help right away. I know I couldn't just lay around knowing my friend wanted to kill him or herself. Talk to your parents or your friends about it and quick. Suicide's not the answer to anything. It's a permanent solution to a temporary problem. If it was my friend, I would be going way out of my way to help her out, maybe that's what your friend needs. Maybe if she knows you are really trying to help her and that you care, she'll change her mind. She needs to know that you would be miserable without her. That's probably why most people commit suicide, because they think no one cares. Show your friend you care and you're all she needs. Don't let her cut her life short, everyone is important to this world and you could be the one to show her that!!

First of all it is NOT legal...second...are you nuts? Would you want to go to jail for murder? Who is going to believe "you" if you say you only "helped", assisted in your friend's suicide? Not only that, but seriously, how would you be able to not only face yourself afterward, what about your friend's family? Your mutual friends, with no conscious of what you just did? Could you live with yourself in helping to destroy a family? How could you be trusted? Do you know how to help this person...if you really wanted to? Go to their parents, a suicide hot line, teacher, counselor or another adult or even your parents. Tell them what you told us and let it go where it needs to. I would NEVER help a friend kill them self, no matter how much they were there for me. I could never live with myself, or face anyone ever again. It just isn't a part of who I am. Sorry.

Of course I wouldn't. Assisted suicide makes you an accessory to murder. If your friend asked you to poke her eye out so she could collect the insurance, would you? How about burn down her house, so she could collect? These are all wrong.
Suicide is no the product of a rational mind. As depressed as someone may be, things can always turn around. Once someone is dead, they are dead. People who wish to commit suicide need someone to remind them that things can always improve.

i don't know about assisted suicide being legal. but maybe you should talk to your friend about whats going on and just try and make them feel better. subtley encourage their self-esteem. it also depends how old ur friend is.....if young, it may be a phase....but i highly suggest you not help your friend die. after all, it's your friend. of all people, you should not be the one encouraging their death

no way i would never get invloved in somehting like that if he/she wanted to kill themselves i would confront them, ask them why they wanna die, and if u think that u get enough info then take her to a doctor or tell the parents cuz you don't want them to die and it would just be too sad for me to handle.
