Zaffy is nice but it's a bit wacky i suppose at least she'd be an individual!
Actually i do like it i like the spelling Zaphie cos it's a bit like Sophie in a sense! What about Zaphelia Zaffy and Olivia jumbled up then you could call her Zaffy for short

I think you may have possibly got this from the TV series Absolutely Fabulous.
Although Saffy in that is actually called Saffron.
Have you considered calling the girl (provided it is a girl of course) - Zaffron. You can then shorten it to Zaffy no problem.
Different enough to be unusual whilst not being embarrassing.
:~}
Oh, by the way - Congratulations to the expecting parents!

I quite like Zaffy it's nice but you have to think about how she is going to feel in 20 years time when she is older
Lexi, Leigh, Zoe, Ella, Emily would be one of my choices
Good luck

Personally, no. It also depends on her other names- what will her initials be. It would be awful to have initials that spelt something bad. Also, remember that she will grow up. If you were her, would you want to be called Zaphie at your age? It might be cute now, but not so cute at 50. And she might not be taken seriously in whatever she chooses to do in life with the name Zaphie (can you imagine her being a lawyer/doctor/business woman and called Zaphie?) Maybe give her an alternate "grown-up name" like Zaphira. My daughter's name is Abigail, but we only ever call her Abbey for that reason. That's my opinion anyway. Goodluck

Picture your baby, not as a baby but as a woman and see if the name suits then. When she is going for a job interview, will it make her be laughed at, or when she goes for a bank loan will she not be taken seriously. Is it a name for an adult? Consider it for a second name instead, if she likes it when she is older she can go by that name, but give her a more 'normal' first name she can use too.
At the end of the day, its your baby, you made her, you can name her what you like.

Honestly I wouldn't because it sounds a bit odd and just think about whether kids would make fun of her for it (on top of my head I can already think of many ways kids would). My name wasn't even remotely funny, but kids still managed to poke fun at it. Kids are cruel and you wouldn't want your child to suffer through that. If your child has a sensitive personality, that could really affect the way she develops self-confidence and such. If you like names that start with a "Z", how 'bout Zurine?
