Yes it is. 30 days is the standard length of time. They should go back to full staff at the end of this week, I believe.

The passing of any president calls for 30 days half staff. That will be until January 27 or 28.

It is customary to fly the flag at half staff for a period of thirty days from the death of the President of the UNited States. FYI,
The flag should be lowered to slightly lower than 1/3 from the top, not at "half-mast" as the description implies.

Yes it is. When a (past or current) President dies, flags are flown at 1/2 staff for 30 days.

Yes it is. My school is still at half staff and it has been for about 2 weeks.I couldn't believe it when they said it was still for Gerald Ford, but it was because he was a major celerity AND because he dies at such an old age. I think it's just a little overboard to have the flag at half staff for two weeks because of one person, but I guess people really respect him.....also, there was a big raise in the people who got killed in Iraq because that idiot of a president sent out more. I think we should just let Iraq drie itself into a hole. Or maybe we could have one big continent where all the mean countries could go to blow each other up!!!!! Oops, sorry for getting off-topic.....

Yes, it's for Gerald Ford. The typical time the flag is lowered is one month after the death.
