I bought my brothers daughter one and he got mad. He said that she shouldn't be wearing stuff like that, cmon bathing suits are to go swimming and feel pretty, if he doesn't let them be pretty they will never know how and end up looking like the disasters I see on everyday.

Well if it's a full on bikini it is a bit inapropriate for an 11 year old. However most other 2 pieces are fine.

They're not making 11 yr olds like they used to. There's a lot of sick guys out there. If she's wearing a 2 piece at public pools I'd be careful.

Sorry, I do not agree with your reasoning..girls shouldn't feel pretty just because they are showing off their bodies..I have to side with your brother, because this is HIS daughter and he gets to make the rules! So many other ways for little girls to express their femininity than that... you sound shallow

I agree with your brother. I think that it grows a girl up too fast when she is dressed like that. It also attracts the wrong kind of attention from predators.

Basically he might be concerned because of all the child sexual abuse that going on. I would never allow my children where 2 piece until they older and can look after themselves.

I guess you should of asked maybe. One of my better friends has several grand daughters and they have two piece bathing suits, they are covering and tasteful. I guess he has his reasons and I wouldn't push it, it is his kid.
