i got a brand new dress, and when i went to show it to someone, i stepped on their front poorch with somekind of kittylitter and salt solvent so it wasn't slick, anyways that's what got on my dress. I tested with a spot towards the bottom with water, and it got it out but left it bumpy. Should i do that to the whole thing and then get in steamed? or is there something that will work better??

Have it dry-cleaned.

I know this will sound funny... I had caramel on a tafta satin dress... this is what you should do (but do check the label)...

get some petrol (car fuel sorta petrol)... take a cotton cloth... put some petrol on it... and clean the dress... leave it in a well ventilated room for a few hours...

I guarantee it will take off the stain... it's so much cheaper than dry cleaning... and that is exactly how they "dry clean" clothes...

Go to they dry cleaner and see if they can fix it. Satin, suede, velvet and other materials need to be handed carefully. Putting water on it directly will only make it worse

Do you still have the tag on it that explains how to wash it? If you do you need to see what it says or you could end up ruining it.
