Many of you NUT-JOBS think everyone must be a slave-wage earner & get an education for a better life huh! Then you bad mouth poor people who need public assistance, which is non-existant & insufficient if you get a lawyer & take five years to start collecting it! I am talking legal Americans here! Then you lie about how great every thing is here in USA but can't recommend anything real like where to get a job paying a living wage!

Aren't you talking about the Bush family? They work at things they enjoy? Some people don't work and some do or at least have a hobby. And that is the rich. But think about the prejudice rich in politics that get rich off of our tax dollars that is what is killing us here in America. Independent rich people don't make a drop of the money they just spent and bankrupted our country? the government hasn't even given us a raise but they voted themselves raises, because they think they are better than us and work harder. I hate those politicians when they talk about that they are for the working class people, I would like to scream "Then you should get a real job then and stop mooching off of us right?" And forget about greedy law looping lawyers they are the problem here as well. They are loop holing everything like the worms that they are and if you cut them in 6 pieces they have 5 more people adding up to 6 so whats the point. Squash them all. Bring back the guillotine and your knitting needles, and watch the show tonight the State of the union address. eh? ha ha Not one of them had anything else but government payrolls and that is their inheritance, our tax dollars. Oops no more we are broke. But that's okay these Euro trashed out American leftist folks are going to get their buddies to buy up our banks? Oops they already did, hmmmm? Now what? Oh yeah China will help us?
You wish?

What are you asking?

I had to apply for public assistance once, when I was fired unexpectedly. I was given food stamps within a week of applying, no lawyer needed, and it was more than enough to keep me eating until I found another job. My phone bill was automatically discounted without me even having to apply for it, and I also got immediate assistance with my electric bll. I was very grateful to receive the help, and it was very sufficient. Once I got another job, I canceled the aid and thanked the agencies profusely, because they sure didn't OWE it to me to take care of my broke a** when I needed help.

I have a side job that requires no special skills, that pays me a living wage. All I had to do was show up when I was scheduled to work, do my job well, and have a good attitude. Amazing how that'll get you a decent job. Then again I don't think I'm entitled to have a new car and plasma TV, so I can pretty easily live on what my job pays me.

Every country has rich, spoilt heirs who never had to work a day in their lives. One of the most obnoxious ones cavorting around the US now is Fabian Besabe, of Ecuador. What's to explain?

Being educated will bring a better life for anyone who wants one. Poor people should work if they are able and get some assistance if they have kids... Things are pretty great here in the USA, if they were not, why would everyone keep comming here... name somewhere better and explain why... Anyone that wants a job here will get one... paying well above minimum wage... if they are willing to put in the time and work hard for it... As for the rich heirs, some people where born lucky... that's life... who gives a ****...

Sorry, I'm sorry you are having such a rough time, but don't think the rich have an "easy street". I know rich people that have problems like you can't imagine. Their rich house has hell going on inside.

Anyone who "bad mouths" those less fortunate is a fool. It's amazing to see how in an instant something awful can happen and their lives are changed forever.

There are many resources in the USA for an American citizen to access. If they are not readily available to you, move to a larger city. Go to the Community Center and see what kinds of help are available. There is free legal advice for sure. Do a google search for government programs in your city. You do have to dig some to find the help you need. Are you disabled in any way? There is help for the disabled.

Well...quite simply, they are rich heirs who don't have to struggle for money or a great life.

And they aren't all bad anyway. Bennett Dorrence (a millionaire many times over, who lives right here in Scottsdale) is actually really generous. When one of the guys in his departments was fired, he felt bad and helped him set up a car mechanic business.

But don't pull that Affirmative Action crap about that "born into poverty" crap. I have a cousin who rose from our mediocre family as the top student in her class and graduated from U of Chicago to work for JP Morgan. Her starting wage was $80k. If you got that many complaints, shoulda studied harder.

So...what is your question. Are you inferring that you have never gotten an edumacation?

...believable.

People are not poor on accident. Yes, that's right, and no I am not an heiress. I am a woman who worked for her degree in order to not have to barely scrap by. It's a fact that college graduates will make more money than a high school dropout.

With so many opportunities to better one's life here in the US of A, I just fail to understand why people do not utilize their resources. People are poor because they're lazy.

Lots of good jobs out there - some make more than I do and I have a college education:

Auto Mechanic - need training
Electrician - Journeyman program
Communications - maintenance, troubleshoot, etc
Construction - learn anything & everything you can and
get your own license(takes a lot of studying)

ETC.

What's there to explain? And explain about what? They were born into wealthy families, no explanation needed!

Why don't you look at the immigrants for examples of how to succeed from nothing. Look at the Vietnamese, who arrived here with nothing but the clothes on their backs. Look at the Albanians, who come and work and work hard.

There's work out there, and opportunities for success. But it's up to you to do it.
