Of course we will. But you have to understand Blacks represent about 12% of the population, the odds that a stand out from such a small sampling could make it are long. To date most Black politicians have not been representative of the nation as a whole, think Jesse Jackson or Al Sharpton, do you think the southern man could get behind them? Obama is by all evidence a more unifying political figure. He is intelligent, well spoken, and doesn't seem to so heavily embrace the race issue, as Sharpton and Jackson have.

I dont know - honestly Im not sure that the country as a whole is progressed enough to vote in a woman yet either, because you'll always have the holdouts who may tell you yeah I would but then when it comes to the little paper vote differently. It would be difficult I think to have a minority elected in - although I suppose never say never.

Definitely, seeing how most (professional and dignified) people are over the whole race thing. Okay, that may be a little ignorant of me, but I do think people are willing to look at the person now rather than the package.

I think it's possible. Never before we have a woman run for a president and now Hillary has just done it. I can't see a reason why blank cannot run for the president.

It will happen, probably before a woman is elected as President. I don't think Obama has a chance though... maybe Collin Powell?

Yes.

It is my sincere hope that Condoleezza Rice will become our president in 2008. The cool thing is that my support of her has absolutely nothing to do with race or gender. She is simply the best qualified for the job.

That's racist. How bout ' A President '? Someone who does what is expected within the honorable dictates of duty? I'll settle for that.
