there is no evidence to support the actuallity of the book of genisis. period end of story. besides hebrew as it is read by qabballists means very different things than what the bible was literally translated as. each letter of the hebrew alphabet has a mystical meaning. each word is a --sentence--.
also myths older than genisis have influenced these 'books of moses' called
'the bible'
a term hijacked by monotheists of the yahway cult it only means
-book-!
if you wish to study these things use only the lense of truth verify and reexamine all claims look at the sources and there motivations examine your personal beliefs; are you seeking the truth of the matter? or are you seeking to support a model of reality such as God god Goddess goddess atheism or any ism?
religion is a mental program which in its most prevalent form keeps people in bondage of mentality. the word means to bind. some say bind to God. but really the facts show otherwise. people are bound to the belief system and those whom sit in the seats of power. world leaders of every nation invoke the programing of reigion in order to herd the masses along the path best suited to there will.
sorry this is long winded
read joseph campbell or maybe pretend all the beliefs of god and purports of the scriptures are but the writings of men doing things that men do.
by the way jesus didn't exist either
no more than zeus of heracles!:):):);)

Yes it is a myth because it contains supernatural occurrences, which we know cannot occur. Also, the fact that Genesis 1 and Genesis 2 put forth two different versions of the creation myth that are not compatible with each other makes it a little difficult to believe.

Well to beleive in the book of Genesis one must first beleive that GOD created everything in 7 days, then came back a couple of million years later to create Adam & Eve, because we know that dinosuars existed because we have the skulls to prove it. That being said, Adam and Eve where historically not around during that time period so basically the book started with Genesis and jumps a million years in the future in a few paragraphs, pretty awesome work dont ya think.

Yes, I think it is a myth. I think most of the Bible is fables - stories designed to teach moral/societal lessons but not be taken literally. It doesn't make it any less valuable to people who believe it but it doesn't mean you should use your literal interpertations to beat people who believe differently over the head. But if you look at most of the Bible it's just not possible. An Ark with two each of animals? Do yo know how many animals there area? Do you know how big a boat that would have to be?
This is off topic but I always think it's funny that people will use Leviticus as an excuse to hate gay/lesbian/trangendered people but ignore those other pesky things in there about wearing certain fabrics or growing a beard. If you think it's literal, you need to think it's all literal and relevant or none of it at all is. If the gay guy is going to hell, so are you for that polyester shirt.

From the original finding (dead sea scrolls?) there was stuff the Jewish scholars left out of the Old Testament. Such as the original humans where Adam & Lilith. They where first. She wanted to get on top during sex and to be equal to man. When Adam refused (her) this behavior, she went away and god made Adam - Eve from his rib. The scholar’s left lilith story out of the bible because it did not sound appropriate, but they did not denied that it was written or discovered as the original findings in the same scrolls used to write the first five books of the bible. In such they left out SATAN original role as leader of Angels or Gods right-hand advisor. When other angels would ask God a question or finish a mission?. God would always go to Satan and ask him what his opinion was. If this was Good or Bad, Right or Wrong as God made him before humans as the Perfect Angel.
The first concept of a higher power (one god) was that of Mother Nature!. I believe it was by Humans before we where called ”Homo Sapiens”. Females are the barer of life. Think about this, doesn’t it make more sense that god is a female "Barer of All Life" universal. Evolution is an adjustment to the environment (survival) based on time. Since Mother Nature controls evolution this would combine Science and Religion into one Philosophy of our origin.

It's a myth.
There is not one shred of evidence supporting the fables, and all the evidence that is known contradicts the claims in the fable.
Those who cling to the myth of genesis are like the loons in the asylum who see things that aren't there. The trouble is, in too many countries it's the lunatics who are running the asylum and they call for the murder of doctors to prevent being cured of their delusions.

Yes I do. It's just there for part of the story of God. Whcich is what you need to have the religion of catholicism and christianity become real. But all relgions are fake. There just there so that people can believe in "life after death".

Well to me i believe it is a myth, but that is because I'm wiccan. A lot of the bible don't make sense period. lol. I guess it all depends on ones beliefs. I'm sure their are tons of people who believe that wicca and witchcraft is a myth. I guess each to his or her own.
