So I just got back from snowboarding and I had felt that I almost twisted my knee out there. I ended up wearing a brace the rest of the days of snowboarding. Its been a week since ive been back and im having a lot of pain in that knee. Have i twisted it? or is it fractured? I can walk on it but its very painful, just laying or sitting and doing nothing I can feel pain. Should I go to the doctor or chiropractor? Or is it something to where I can just take some medicine and let it heal on its own?

The fact that you can bear weight on the knee is good. The bad is that until you have a proper exam performed you could still have an injury present that needs to be repaired. It's highly unlikely you fractured your knee, which would be the knee cap itself. You didn't say if you experienced any swelling or discoloration with the knee, so it's hard to know much else. There are a number of exams that need to be performed by a professional to make a diagnosis. The knee is a very unstable joint by design. It's held together with numerous tendons and muscles that are easily damaged, especially during sports. Until you get into a physician, I recommend icing the knee for 20 minutes at least three times a day, elevating the leg, and taking anti-inflammatory meds of some kind. Ibuprofen, naproxen, aceteminophen. Make sure you follow the recommended dosage. Excess medication won't take away more pain. It will only damage your liver.
