why didn't I watch it earlier? I would have been a happier teenager. But here's my question. Is it a film usually girls like, or do the guys like it as well? Or am I wrong and you find it crappy?

Please no answer: I dunno this film... thanx.

I agree with the intimate stuff. Though I see it more than a metaphor, than a real physical relationship. I mean, no way, this guy would touch a mature woman like her. They are just cute together. Love goes so much below just physical attraction. I hope you have experienced it. So they both get together because of love that goes deep under the skin. They are soulmates. This is why the physical relationship, in my view, doesn't count literally.

I saw it a long time ago and it has always stuck with me. Cort is great as Harold and Ruth Gordon is wise and very funny. And I am a guy.

It is a product of the counter culture film making style of the 60s and 70s and carries the theme of hope and alienation and, at least in this film, redemption.
