Everything you eat was once alive, whether it be plant or animal. Its what keeps you alive. Thats just the way it works. Its survival of the fittest.

All energy ultimately comes from the Sun. Plants can convert light energy from the sun into energy they can use through photosynthesis. Since we can't go through photosynthesis, we have to get it from those who can, by eating them.
