How about having a 30's theme? Loads of dressing up many aspects of the 30's like cocktails, music and decorate room accordingly. Invite all who would join in that kind of fun.
I'm just doing a 40's theme party, OK it's a lot easier with service uniforms etc: but we have found it great fun and everybody is looking forward to it.
Have a great time!

It's kind of cheesy, but there's this place called Pump It Up that has a bunch of those jumpies that kids like so much. Here's a link with some pictures. There are various locations around CA:

It's pretty fun becuase it brings out the kid in you. I'd suggest spending an hour there and then going out for dinner somewhere else. I think they only serve pizza there.

Try a Korean or Mongolian BBQ restaurant where you cook your own food in the middle of your table. They usually have setups for quite a few people. The meal will take quite a while and its a great time for conversation. There used to be one in South Pasadena, but I've heard of others around Olympic/Korea Town.

How about a Comedy Club. My boyfriend and I (he's 33) we went to see Mitch Fatel at the Comedy Stop in AC on saturday and we never laughed so hard in our entire lives! www.mitchfatel.com
I just checked his website, and I don't think he will be in Cali for a while, but I am sure that there are some great comedy clubs in LA!

For my brother's 30th, we went to a restaurant similar to Benihana...teppan table style japanese food. It was a fun show and great food. There are plenty of Benihana's in LA county. Happy Birthday!

Go to the Hollywood Hills and there is a place on the HIll where you can park and walk up the cliff and see the entire LA at night.
You just take your Beer or whatever up there and check it out.
Thats where I go and each year my friends go there.

I would drive up to Santa Barbara and go to some wineries! You should hire a limo for the day.
In the early morning I would do massages!
