Because we strive for perfection and want too much from life. We expect both partners to have a successful career and then we juggle that with our home life.
Throughout the working day we stress about whether we'll finish on time to pick the kids up from nursery etc.
Years ago work was just a place to earn money, these days it's the place where we have to reach target sales etc.
In a perfect world we'd be able to take a step back from the fast pace of life and appreciate what we have!

With every day pass, our country is getting into more and more trouble. The inflation, unemployment and falling value of dollar are the main concern for our Government but authorities are just sleeping, they don’t want to face the fact. Media is also involve in it, they are force to stop showing the real economic situation to the people. I start getting more concern about my future as well as my family after watching the response of our Government for the people that affected by hurricane Katrina.
According to recent studies made by World Bank, the coming crisis will be far worse than initially predicted. So if you're already preparing for the crisis (or haven't started yet) make sure you watch this video at http://www.familysurvival.tv and discover the 4 BIG issues you'll have to deal with when the crisis hits, and how to solve them fast (before the disaster strikes your town!) without spending $1,000s on overrated items and useless survival books.

I think it's because so many things, which in the past gave you a break, got speeded up through technology.
Household tasks can now be done in the evenings and are far less time consuming - therefore the women go to work! We all have cars - therefore the commute to work got cut dramatically, unless you live around London that is. Even in the cars we no longer have a proper break because we can constantly be contacted via our mobiles. Computers have speeded up many office jobs and also life at home.
On one hand this is a huge relieve (I WOULD NOT want to wash my clothes without a washing machine and NOBODY TOUCHES MY DISHWASHER!), but on the other it means that many more things naturally creep into your lifes. Hmmm, I suppose we'll just have to learn to slow down.

Modern life is stressful because society has placed unrealistic, greedy and totally ridiculous goals and expectations in front of us and YOU choose to chase after them. Big house, fancy car, bling, bling should I go on? Then there's the problem of a government that refuses to listen to what it's people say and does exactly what it wants anyway. These two things would make anybody stress, that's why I don't play the game.

yes all agreable points, exept A.jeo ,ur type of thinking is what has us in this mess, now the fact is that 8.5 billoin individuals is far far to many people and we have surpassed what this world can produce naturally.competition is high and with that stress . the rich will always want there coushy lives and the poor work to keep them there.why?WE MUST reduce our population..it is the only way and it is also impossible.
so to everyone with a good life live it up,have fun because the slow one now will later be fast as the present now will later be past and the first one now will later be last.

Because it's modern and we want so many things.
NOTE: want not need
people in the olden times only live their everyday lives just to provide for their needs, but we people of the so called "modern times" yearn to fulfill our wants.
If you only lived for your needs, life would less be stressful. ^_^

because of the fact it is so rapid paced. we've not got time to end, think of, relax, think of issues by, and so on. existence has consistently been demanding however, purely for various motives. think of of what we planned to be cavemen. existence grow to be far greater sluggish paced yet they had to rigidity approximately if their hunt could be triumphant, if a warring rival tribe grow to be going to attack, whether or no longer their babies have been secure from organic international, and so on. Now think of of a greater moderen timeframe, like united statesa. interior the 1850's. Blacks have been extremely under pressure because of the fact they have been held as slaves. Northerners have been under pressure because of the fact they antagonistic slavery, and Southerners have been under pressure because of the fact they feared their way of existence grow to be threatened if abolitionists succeeded in liberating the slaves. on the instant we are under pressure because of the fact we are predicted to do maximum of issues and meet maximum of expectancies. we are meant to consistently be striving for greater. the somewhat some happiest human beings interior the international are people who're content fabric with having *merely adequate*.

Because our priorities are wrong. We are obsessed with ownership and, as the Buddist saying goes, we don't own things, they own us. If we could be content with less - smaller house, fewer possessions, less meat, slower car - we would find that we would have more time to be bored and, ultimately, be less stressed!

It Is because we are geared towards personal gain rather than personal happiness , plus it doesn't help when the things we buy become out of date five minutes aft or we have bought them

Mainly because we all want more than what we have, and feel that if we're not do this or that than we're not living. Sometimes you really do have to slow down and take stock and decide what is really important.
