I love impatiens, pentas, and oxalis. Also calla lilies but they may take a little bit more time to grow. I live in Texas though, and things don't grow the same everywhere.

In most of the USA, it's pretty close to "too late" right now, but next fall plant Daffodils for color in March '08. Purchase 5 or 6 different varieties of Daffodils labeled "Early-" or "Mid-Season" and you will have color for all of March.
Again - in most of the USA - pansies or violas are about the only annual flower that will be blooming in March. Some warmer areas, petunias and/or English Primroses may be available, and able to handle the milder cold spells in those warmer areas, in March.

We would have a hard time making recommendations here without knowing your location (zone). The country is divided into "zones" for planting purposes. You can look up your zone here http://www.sunset.com/sunset/garden/article/1,20633,845218,00.html that way you can get some useful advice here by telling us your zone. Or you can run by your local nursery and ask what they recommend for quick color and hardiness. Best wishes to you, hope you have a beautiful garden!
