I use the plastic hangers now, and all I get are larger nips than I did when I was using metal hangers. And I do wait until the garment is completely dry before hanging it. Maybe the padded hangers is the way to go. Seems like such a "chick" solution, though! lol

try hanging your shirts inside out. Then the lumps will be downward. When you put the shirt on it will lay flat.
Also maybe you could fold the shirt over the hanger instead of hanging it.
Why not just fold them and put them in the drawer?

This is going to sound really stupid but get some coat hangers with less sharp sides. The plastic ones from WalMart work well. The other option is to fold them. Martha Stewart has a great way of folding things perfectly. Go on her web-site and see if you can find the directions.
If you have shirts that already have "nipples", rewash them and put them in the dryer.
Also, never hang your shirts when they are wet (or even moist), the weight of the fabric pulls the shirt down on the hanger and makes the nipples.

Can you fold them and put them on a shelf or in the dresser? I have spritzed my shirts with water and then hit them with the hair dryer to get out wrinkles before, it might help with you shoulder problems too. Also sometimes I throw my clothes back in the clothes dryer for a few minutes to take out any wrinkles.

Seriously, dude, you need to invest in an iron (they're cheap) and an ironing board. I can't believe you don't own that!!
Follow everyone else's directions about putting the shirts in the dryer. You could also lay your shirts/sweaters flat to dry, then hang them up. OR you could lay them to dry on a clothes rack....oh wait, you probably don't have one of those! Lol.

If I'm in a hurry, I spritz w/ a little water, then hold against my shoulder (this is while wearing the shirt) & dry w/ a hair dryer, usually works pretty good.
