Post doctoral fellow

This is like an academic / learning type job for those who have finished their doctorate, but want additional instruction. It can be with an academic institution, or with a firm. A job with a firm is more like an entry level position, knowing that you have a lot to learn still, but want to get your foot in the door.

It could also simply mean the incumbent must possess a doctoral degree.
