No--look at the numbers watching 35 million.
Although many people are disgusted with a lot of things like mean critiques, crossing the line, the worse singer of the top two usually winning the title, the predatory way it highlights the singer in their worst moment, good people getting kicked off too early, bad ones staying too long, the whole thing being only and all about money, and the totally rigged nature of the show.
Although I am disgusted with the show, I am and get addicted and watch despite my dislike for many elements of the show. I am sure I am not the only one who feels this way.

Yes it has. I can't speak on why it's run its course based on facts and figures or the Nielsen's ratings, but from a personal standpoint, I've noticed that there are a slough of better shows to watch - be it drama or sitcom, reality TV, I think, leaves little to the imagination and shows how un-creative writers become when it's all about the money. Also, as a once-fan of American Idol, I've noticed the cliche it's become - it's a standard for all competetive reality shows on television, and I think they either need a new niche or at the very least, quit while they're ahead. After all, Kelly Clarkson will always be remembered as the original American Idol anyway.

If this years bad auditions are any kind of sign then yes. They used to show a 2 second clip of the bad ones, maybe longer if they were entertaining, but this year they show them singing the whole freakin song (which they don't even let the good ones do) and the judges sit there saying nothing with blank looks or laughing the whole time. It crosses from comical to annoyiing to hear squeaky, dull, off key Joe Schmoe singing for a full 3 min.
Bad editing if you ask me.
The judges look bored, the singers look bored, which equal boring TV. If the President interupts this evenings show it may not be a bad thing, by the time they come back it will most likely still be on the same bad audition they cut into.

Yes it has, I only watch the audition episodes after that it gets boring to me. I like to catch the last episode just to see who won though.
