They were the #4 seeded team and they didn't make the conference championship game. It doesn't matter who's #2, they're still at home watching the game.

What did Holmgren do to merit coaching the ProBowl? He has had a team that is consistently ranked in the top few teams in the beginning of the season, and every year he gets the same results, nothing.
Meanwhile, Payton took a team that was 3-13, the worst team in football, and took them to the Conference Championship the next year.
There is no comparison between the 2.

No. Some teams just match up against Chicago better than other teams. Arizona also played them closer than New Orleans and they suck.

A loss is a loss. They didn't make it to the conference championships.

Kind of a moot question I would think. Record wise, the Seahawks probably had a better year, but I would not begrudge the Saints their victory lap. What they did was quite a feat.

Yes, because the seahawks were the defending nfc champs. the saints were the darkhorse. & a good team at that!
