Someone asked about "the President thing" tonight and the assignment she has to do on it. That "President thing" she is referring to is The State of the Union Address. Someone responded to her question with, "OMG I have to do a report on that too and like American Idol is on tonight" etc. etc.

Now, I get not watching it. I don't plan on watching it. But at least I know what he's going to be talking about because it's hard not to know if you've paid even a little bit of attention to anything beyond yourself. (Am I coming across as mean and snotty? Oh well.) The person who asked even said, "I don't know what the f**k he's even talking about."

Were we like that when we were kids? I mean . . . someone help me here.

I wasn't interested in Bush bashing. Take your comments elsewhere if you are interested in that. I'm not fan of the President, but it doesn't answer my question.

I think it was similar when I was a child. My earliest memories of presidential elections are when Reagan took office. I know consider Reagan to be the best president of our times, but I would run from the room in terror if I came in and the President was on TV. I didn't comprehend a lot of what was going on and I came from a family that was not very good at explaining what was going on, so I haven't been a follower of Presidential speeches until I was in my mid-twenties.

lol. Probably. It would be hard to compare this generation to the last simply because the situations are so different. Not so many tv shows, no internet, etc. I feel sorry for kids today in some ways. Apparently, even the Greeks have documents that bemoan the shallow nature of their youth...It's just part of our development!

If I had talked like that when i was a kid, I would have been spitting out teeth. times have changed, this generation is going to hell in a hand basket. An opinion is one thing, being ignorant and rude is another.

It is pretty sad. I'm 19 and most of my friends made fun of me when I voted for the midterm elections. I hate to say it, but those who actually care are becoming rare.

Consider who is in office...

Most of us don't know what he's talking about. That's what her report should be about. And the title should be:

WTF is he talking aobut?
