A lot of people give wrong answers. You would be better off reading the information you need from a more reliable source.

I wonder if anybody has ever asked the question "What is a reliable source?". That is a matter of opinion. Kind of like asking about Global Warming.
I don't mind helping out. I learn about things as I help people. If they don't want to learn and just get answers, then that is their problem.
Besides, people will pick the answer they want to hear. Just like you will pick the answer that suit you.

Sure some people are here because they are bone lazy but that is by no means generally the case. Lots of people are stuck for a particular piece of information or want a range of opinion on a question and this can be a very efficient way to get that. Yes a lot of unreliable information appears via one's computer screen and yes students (and others) should learn to evaluate that and other information critically. From an answering standpoint I find this site fun. It is fun because it is a form of teaching and I enjoy teaching. As well it is a great way to practice my search skills when I don't actually know the answer off the top of my head myself.

Absolutely. However sometimes people understand the basics and just want reassurance that they are proceeding correctly. But for many people it is a cop-out to studying and doing the work.

studying is good for knowing how to do something, or to get the genral idea. however, coming here can help if oyu have a specific problem with something. you may have read the formula for that math problem, dosnt mean you wont run into some trouble with it. if you do run inot trouble, and cant figure it out, then come here.
