"M.O.", if you are talking about what I think you are, is the abbreviation for "modus operandi." It is a Latin phrase meaning "mode of operation." See Wikipedia for a more detailed definition.

Your MO is your 'mark' you leave on something or someone...
Bad example, but here:
A serial killer leaves an MO, something that he does to each of his victims everytime, folding their hands, similar victims, similar locations of murder, etc....Watch law and order, or some crime show...
