good question. here is what i do...if it is not too crowded then i don't feel bad cuz my butt is in an otherwise empty seat. I usually have something (1) to drink in the 1st half. then come third qtr i will get something to eat, then maybe another drink in the 4th qtr IF it is a good game. all in i can usually get out of there spending $15 (with standard tip...sorry, my butt in an otherwise empty chair does not deserve more of a tip), maybe talk to a few people and see multiple games. They will always attempt to get you to eat immediately. I guess you end up eating more that way or something. Better yet, watch one half at home and 2nd at bar. It gets old being at a bar for an entire game. i've done too many. w/ friends it is more enjoyable of course.

After many years of working in the service industry here is my advice. You are not required or expected to buy a large amount. The thing you have to remember though is that service people make their living on tips, not on their hourly rate of pay, where I live servers make $2.65 per hour and the rest must come from tips that they have to split with various other employees like hosts and bussers. Tip appropriately for the amount of time you are there and taking up a seat. On any other day, they could turn that seat over many times and make a tip off of many people but on this day, they are out of luck. Just because your total bill may only be $10 doesn't mean you should tip only 15%. Think about it you just sat there for four hours and you are going to tip your server $1.50? - unbelievable but it happens. Establishments know that their turnover won't be good on superbowl sunday but be considerate.

i think they will have food like happy hour, drink and eat throughout the game, don't get drunk of course, you know when to stop, perhaps forty fifty dollars? its so noisy though you can't hear, better yet, get yourself to a deli order a couple of subs, some beer and chips and enjoy the game at home that way you can drink all you want. the most $25.00? maybe....

you should always have a drink in your hand! that shows you have respect for theplace! tip well that guy is right 2.50 isn't much for an hour rate! so if you don't buy a lot of drinks tip very well!
