If you want a core 2 duo there aren't limitless options for motherboard yet. The Asus P5W and P5B series are two possibilities. Intel also has a few, like the DG965MS if you're looking for a cheaper alternative. (Not the best performance-wise though). One of Intel's better mobos is the D975XBX2 Desktop board. Abit's Fatal1ty board will also do the trick, as will Gigabyte's 965P-S3. You'll be able to tell which boards you will want all depending on socket numbers. LGA775 is core 2 duo as well as some of the newer Pentiums (P4, P4 Extreme, Pentium D).
For mobos you'll need either the 975 chipset or the 965. I'd personally recommend a high-end Asus or Gigabyte motherboard. Not only because I've owned several computers and had friends with these mobos in theirs do I trust these brands, but because on any forum these are the most widely talked-about brands on the market. Plus, you can easily overclock core 2 duos on these two motherboards.

I would either choose Asus or Gigabyte. Both are very reliable, durable and relatively good value for money.

nope, doesnt matter, all which you're able to desire to discover out is that if the cardboard which you purchase will fit on your workstation, because of the fact there is categories of slots that they in good shape into on diverse computers. in case you're uncertain, merely call a working laptop or workstation place and that they are going to inform you to open your workstation and describe what you notice, it extremely is how i bought my video card. or you are able to convey your workstation right into a working laptop or workstation save and that they are going to inform you what variety of card you like, and that they are going to probably sell them too. additionally in case you're finding out to purchase a clean pics card, right that's some suggestion, a million) what are you buying the pics card for? video games? or some thing liek that? and it relies upon on the video sport , because of the fact the costlier enjoying cards are alot greater powerful and swifter, and that they are mandatory to play an extremely huge sport. dont place self assurance in the guy on the save to tell you what card to purchase for the sport, because of the fact i bought a low-value on that the guy mentioned " oh this card would be suitable for that sport" and yet when I put in the pics card i performed the sport and found out i could desire to are transforming into a greater powerful one. i grow to be mad because of the fact the workstation guy acted like he knew what he grow to be doing and he didnt. so ask around for a fashion sturdy of a card you shoudl get for what sport you're enjoying and so on. i assume there truly isnt a quantity 2. yet anyhow i'm hoping that helps. sturdy luck.

the best way to see what motherboards is good is to go to a site where you can configure a computer, and look at them there, the more expensive they are the better
configure a PC here...
