does anyone know how i can restore flooring (laminated wood) to a somewhat reasonable look

buy new stuff. its cheap. i've never heared of anyone resoring laminate flooring. you can buy hardwood pens to fill in scratches and hardwood floor conditioner to make it shiney but other than that there isn't much you can do

Not much you can do with laminate. Usually the wood layer is too thin to try to sand down and refinish. Could try a light sanding followed by application of new clear coat, but I can't guarantee the results. You will probably have to replace, and if your replacing you may want to consider using an alternate material.

If they are in a bad way. ie chipped or broken in many places ,cheaper to replace them rather then repair ,
because repair never works out properly,

Where I live that stuff is about $19/sq metre.. I'd buy some new stuff and start again... much less hassle
