Above my cats tail is very sensitive, when I pet her she gets angry and tries to bite. She's 11 and she's always had some sensitivity there, but now it seems as though she dislikes it more then she used to. Is it because she's just crankier in her old age or is there another reason?

She is fixed, and she is usually a very loving cat until someone touches her there.

To vmax....I don't go around poking her there, I was asking a simple question no need to be an ***.

In response to your question, my cat went through something similar to this last year. I took her to the vet, where he discovered that my cat had an infection from a bite wound. The vet thinks that perhaps my cat got into a fight with another cat and was bitten, which without care (because I didn't know) got infected. I seriously would recommend taking your cat to the vet, because whether she has an infection, or there is some other cause, it is obvious that your cat is in discomfort and even pain, and the reason behind that is something that needs to be discovered and treated as soon as possible. Good luck to you and your cat!

Is your cat fixed? If so it is more than likely because she is getting older. I have 3 females and the mama who is now fixed does not like that area touched either. although her off spring show no signs of dislike when being pet.

Quit touching it.Its sensitive and the more you touch it the worse it feels I am sure.Old old cats are known to develop sists under the skin that can be very irritating.Take her to the vet and have it looked at.But mostly, stop touching it or you deserve to be bit!!

thats cute, are you guys in divorse court? anyway, is there a lump there? my cat has a habit of dislocating his tail. it will be really sore for a few days and you can't pet him anywhere near the tale. thats my guess. to know for sure you have to take the kitty to the vet. hope verything goes well.

tell the cats husband to get a vasectomy. This will cause him to not bring more offspring into the world.

this is common in many cats. you should take her or him to a vet immediately and get an x ray. many cats begin to bite and develope rabies and you should have it seen quickly.

She's probably got some disc degeneration, and/or arthritis in the spine. Don't touch it!!

AS YOU HAVE A VERY SENSITIVE PART OF YOU BODY SO DO CATS ALSO HAVE THEIRS. THEY USE IT TO PLAY ROMANCE.
