Everyone's skin responds to products differently so your friend may have to try a few things to find what works the best for her. For over the counter treatments, products with benzoyl peroxide and salicylic acid work well for most people; this includes face washes, scrubs, masks, moisturizers, spot treatments and make-up. Also look for products with glycolic acid or alpha or beta hydroxy acids. She might also try wiping her face with a cotton ball soaked in hydrogen peroxide, which kills germs, or using a face wash with an antibacterial such as Triclosan. Use a light, oil free moisturizer after cleansing (if the skin becomes too dry, oil glands become overactive and make the problem worse), and look for products that are non-comedogenic, which means they won't clog pores. She should make sure to remove make-up before bed, and avoid make-up as much as possible while waiting for skin to clear up. Try a concealer containing salicylic acid on zits, such as the one sold by Clean & Clear. My personal favorite products for fighting acne are Clearasil Ultra Acne Treatment Cream, Noxzema Triple Clean Antibacterial Cleanser and Noxzema Triple Clean Anti-Blemish Astringent. If over the counter treatments are unsuccessful, consult a dermatologist who may recommend prescription treatments such as creams or antibiotic pills.

tell her to lay off the fast foods. Also if she plays a sport, cheerleads ect. and sweats alot during practices and games tell her to take a towell so when she gets really sweaty to wipe her face off so the sweat doesn't sink too deep into her pores. Don't wait till you get home and take a shower. Also maybe they're cloggig up and getting irritated. A good facial scrub would do the trick. Also there are also really good creams out there. Proactive works like a charm. So lay of junk foods and drinks, wipe sweat off, and search around for some good creams.

The best advice I can tell you is to have her see a dermatogist. Only he can diagnose exactly what her problem is, and give or prescribe the correct medicine. Just keep in mind that acne can leave scars that last a lifetime....so have her go to the dermatologist. Best of luck.

I used to have HORRENDOUS spots, for years, until i went on the Pill. By sorting out all my hormones, my skin cleared up practically overnight. There are other advantages to the Pill than just keeping away the babies! lol
