Check that your USB port is working by plugging an known-good item in there and see if that item works. Then you know the port is working. After that, it is either the drive itself, or maybe a setting in the software on your computer. Sometimes virus software will not allow you to accesss things if it thinks it might be a problem.
If it was recently working, and now it's not, look at what has changed on your system since the last time it was working. If something has changed, like settings or new software load, that is probably your problem.

I totally know the answer to this from experience!

The resolution is a bit complicated:

Go to start
right click on my computer, and select MANAGE
The second section on the left is called storage
Click on disk management

In the right hand pane, you should see all of your disks, ie hard drives, your usb flash drive, etc.

Right click on your flash drive and select change drive letter and path. i typically choose something lower on the alphabet, to avoid confusing it with something built into the computer.

do not select mount...

click ok.

After that, give it a few seconds, remove your drive, wait a few seconds, and plug it back in.

It should now appear in your "my computer"

Let me know if it works!

extremely what this skill is that the ports analyzing purposes are not quickly sufficient for it to verify your USB. attempt to place your USB right into a extra moderen and much less used port. After this attempt and extract all your artwork onto a working laptop or workstation.
