Thats a reallllllly hard one. I think there are a lot of annoying over-played songs that are on the radio and stuff with crappy music videos. My favourite song made in 2006 would probably be something from Feist or Gwen Stefani! I don't know the most listened though. That's a good question.

Shakira ft. Wyclef Jean "Hips Don't Lie" and I would think so because it made pop history of beating "Hollaback Girl" by selling more downloads, and most of the 06 countdowns had placed her as #1. In my opinion, I thought "Sexy Back" was played often.

I know Boston radio show 98.5 said the song they played the most was KT Tunstall's "Black Horse and the Cherry Tree." My guess would have been "Crazy" by Gnarls Barkley. Don't think I could escape that song.
