I believe I can hear meaning in the emotion expressed in the way people address me,or subjects they discuss in my prescence.

What you are sensing is more than likely right when it comes to really understanding what someone is really saying. Voice tone is a solid way of deciphering the truth when somebody is saying something, even though their words may be sensationalizing or contradicting.

Quite often body language coincides with voice tone.

Absolutely! You can give a person mixed ideas by what is being said and HOW it is being said! Actually, some of the most effective statements one can give are said in a very soft tone, with the right words chosen. But the answer is yes! The tone used in addressing someone speaks GREATLY about how someone respects (or lacks respect) towards you in general.

You are learning. Emotion has a way to coming across when a person talks. It doesn't necessarily mean that the way "you" determine it is accurate though.

vocal tone is everything it can clarify if some one is being sincere or not...
