There truly is no safe place, either way you look at it. Scientists now report that given average temperatures are exponetially increasing within 50 years over 1/2 of all species on earth will die as a direct result of global warming. Entire islands in some parts of the world are already being submerged as a result of changes in sea level.

Some theorize, however, that Earth's climate is elastic, which means that temperatures build to a certain level, then suddenly and sometimes catastrophically snap back as the climate seeks to find balance. Should this happen the results as far as human civilization are concerned are unimaginable. This theory was talked about in the book "The Coming Global Superstorm" by Art Bell and Whitley Strieber. I recommend reading this. The effects of global warming as currently known have been discussed in documentaries such as "An Inconvenient Truth". Either way, if global warming continues unchecked, or should the climate eventually attempt to readjust itself as I have touched on here, there truly is no part of the world which is safe from its effects on all life.

Actually, polar bear populations are thriving, and have been for quite some time. Al Gore wants you to think they can't swim and clearly states it-when however they CAN swim. In fact they can swim for hundreds of miles. You never hear about that do you. The polar bears are fine, it's all a scam to get children worried about it and come home to tell their parents about how they need to stop global warming-for the cuddly polar bears! Don't be fooled sweetie

Up until this last autumn, I would have thought Canada's southwest as it's mild and gets like no tornadoes or hurricanes but this year we've had storm after storm with hurricane force winds causing widespread damage and even loss of life so now I don't think there is really any safe place.
